This natural cotton sew-in canvas is the reference interlining for waistband reinforcement in traditional and high-end tailoring. Specifically designed to provide supple rigidity and dimensional stability, it ensures a lasting hold of the waistband without a "cardboard" effect. Its pure cotton composition and plain weave give it the mechanical properties needed to withstand the stresses of wearing.
Shrinking Mandatory: Before any cutting, it is essential to shrink this canvas (soak in hot water and dry) to cause maximum shrinkage. This step prevents deformation of the waistband during subsequent washes of the garment.
Assembly Technique: This canvas is a sew-in interlining. It is fixed to the seam allowances of the waistband by basting stitches or, in the tailoring tradition, by hand stitches to ensure invisible and lasting integration.
Compatibility: Ideal for medium to heavy weight trouser or skirt fabrics (wool, gabardine, broadcloth) where firm support is required. It can also be used for certain trouser hem reinforcements or facing edges requiring local hold and high wear resistance.

Storage: Store the product in a dry environment, away from humidity and direct sunlight to avoid yellowing or deterioration of the cotton fibre.

Properties: Rigid, non-fusible, very stable after shrinking. One bias strip and one straight grain strip containing horsehair
Washing: Maximum 40°C wash. The initial shrinking allows subsequent washing in accordance with the finished garment's instructions.
Bleaching: Avoid the use of chlorine bleaching agents.
Drying: Natural drying.
Pressing: Hot iron pressing (cotton), if necessary after assembly, using a press cloth.
