How are your blocks made?
Every Labs10 block goes through several stages, from 3D modelling to hand finishing.
Here is the process:

3D design
Precise CAD modelling to guarantee perfect, reproducible volumes.

Preparing the wood block
Every lime wood block is carefully prepared, just as blockmakers have done for a hundred years. Lime sourced less than 100 km from the workshop.

Robotic machining
The block is carved by a 7-axis robot to within half a millimetre.

Hand sanding
Fine sanding by the new generation of blockmakers, removing every tool mark for a perfectly smooth surface.

Varnishing
A protective varnish resistant to steam and damp, for intensive professional use.

Archiving & remaking
Files are kept indefinitely. Order another size or an identical replacement, even years later.
