The idea
A workspace, a fully equipped workshop
The Temporary Workshop is a professional workspace open to experienced hatters, milliners and craftspeople. You book a slot and come and work — our machines are yours, along with a library of hat blocks. It is your workshop for the day.
Access is reserved for professionals who already know how to use the equipment they wish to work with.
This is not a course or a training session.

Sewing machines
01Dürkopp Adler 281 — Lockstitch
Industrial lockstitch for light to medium fabrics and materials. Reliable and precise, ideal for assembly seams (cut-and-sew, head fitting, lining and so on). Electronic machine with adjustable speed, thread trimmer and automatic backtack.
02Juki DDL-8000A — Lockstitch
Industrial flatbed lockstitch. Steady feed and adjustable high speed — ideal for linings and fine textiles. Electronic machine with thread trimmer and automatic backtack.
03Pfaff 114 — Zigzag
Industrial zigzag machine. Used in particular to fit brass wire along the hat brim.
04Pfaff 335 — Cylinder arm, triple feed
Cylinder-arm machine with triple feed. Built for leather and heavy or thick materials such as felt and leather head fittings.
05Anita — Zigzag for straw
Zigzag stitching designed specifically for braided straw. A machine dedicated to straw hats.
06Yamato CZ — 4-thread overlocker
Three- or four-thread overlock for assembly and edge finishing. One- or two-needle threading. Clean, fast finishes.
07Juki MF-7523 — Coverstitch
Flatbed coverstitch for hems and finishing seams, with two or three needles. A clean, professional result. Ideal for stretch fabrics.
08Dürkopp Adler 540 — Buttonhole machine
Machine for industrial buttonholes, eyelets and bar tacks. Precision and repeatability on every piece. Automatic stitching and buttonhole cutting.
Skiving
09Global SK111 — Skiving machine
Ideal for skiving leather and thick materials, with fine thickness adjustment. Essential for clean edges.
Pressing and drying
10Covemat PR929AG — Industrial press with iron
Steam press with built-in iron and a vacuum table. Shaping, fusing and steam finishing.
11Stirovap Minor — Industrial steam generator
High-pressure steam generator with iron. Professional pressing of millinery materials.
12Étuve Controls H Series — Stabilising oven
Controlled drying and stabilising of materials — felt, straw, fabric — after blocking or treatment.

16Presse à œillet RTS Micro — Eyelet and rivet setting
Pneumatic setting of eyelets and rivets. Works with various diameters, including self-piercing eyelets.
17Studio photo — Optional extra
A photo studio is available on site to shoot your pieces at the end of your session. Includes the space with a white backdrop and lighting. Camera not provided. Optional extra, on request.
18Internet & Wi-Fi — Included
Wi-Fi throughout the workshop. Included for the duration of your session.
