This traditionally crafted grosgrain ribbon is woven in France on wooden shuttle looms, ensuring an authentic structure and superior fibre suppleness. Its 51% cotton composition and 25 mm width make it ideal for high-end millinery and tailoring work requiring a matte and stable finish. This premium product allows for precise handling without fibre alteration during assembly. Grosgrain no. 5 is ideal for headband fittings and hat brim finishes.
Usage advice
This ribbon is specifically designed to be shaped with an iron to follow the curves of headband fittings or hat brims. Due to its pure cotton structure, it is essential to carry out a thorough shrinking process with steam before any cutting or application, in order to stabilise the natural fibre shrinkage. Its suppleness allows for complex millinery bows (flat bow, French bow) with a clean drape and lasting hold.

Storage: store away from direct light and humidity to preserve the depth of colour.

Protection: the use of a press cloth is recommended when shaping with an iron to avoid glazing the cotton.

Tools: the use of perfectly sharpened tailor's shears is necessary to ensure a clean cut of the weave.
