Sisal - Fuchsia Pink

Abaca fibres woven in a plain weave, also known as sisal or sinamay in millinery. The loose weave of this material creates transparency, allowing you to layer several pieces (of the same or different colours) to achieve various effects. Sisal must be worked damp, to avoid breaking the fibre when stretching the material over a hat block. It is also possible to work sisal three-dimensionally, in open space. Sisal works particularly well on the bias, owing in particular to its loose weave.

Sisal is a material widely used for making occasion hats.
