Grosgrain ribbon 25mm - Orange - cotton

This traditional grosgrain ribbon is woven in France on wooden shuttle looms, guaranteeing an authentic structure and superior fibre flexibility. Its 100% cotton composition and 25 mm width make it ideal for high-end millinery and tailoring work requiring a matte, stable finish. This premium product allows precise handling without altering the fibre during assembly steps. Grosgrain ribbon n°5 is ideal for headbands and brim finishes of hats.

Usage advice

This ribbon is specifically designed to be worked with an iron to follow the curves of headbands or hat brims. Due to its pure cotton structure, a complete steam shrinking must be carried out before any cutting or application in order to stabilise the natural shrinkage of the fibre. Its flexibility allows the creation of complex millinery knots (flat knot, French knot) with a clean drape and lasting hold.

Additional information

• Storage: store away from direct light and humidity to preserve the depth of the colour.

• Protection: the use of a press cloth is recommended when shaping with the iron to avoid glazing the cotton.

• Tools: the use of perfectly sharpened tailor's shears is necessary to guarantee a clean cut of the weft.
