Grosgrain ribbon 35mm - Wisteria - cotton

This traditionally-made grosgrain is woven in France on wooden shuttle looms, guaranteeing an authentic structure and a superior fibre suppleness. Its 100% cotton composition and 35 mm width make it ideal for high-end millinery and tailoring work requiring a matte and stable finish. This premium product allows precise handling without altering the fibre during the assembly stages.

Tips for use

This ribbon is specifically designed to be worked with an iron to conform to the curves of head entries or hat brims. Due to its pure cotton structure, it is imperative to carry out a complete steam shrinking before any cutting or setting to stabilise the natural shrinkage of the fibre. Its suppleness allows the creation of complex millinery knots (flat knot, French knot) with a clean drape and durable hold.

Additional information

• Storage: store away from direct light and humidity to preserve the depth of the colour.

• Protection: the use of a press cloth is recommended during iron shaping to avoid glazing the cotton.

• Tools: the use of perfectly sharpened tailor's shears is necessary to guarantee a clean cut of the weft.
