This traditionally crafted grosgrain ribbon is woven in France on wooden shuttle looms, ensuring an authentic structure and superior fibre suppleness. Its 100% cotton composition and 25 mm width make it ideal for high-end millinery and tailoring work requiring a matte, stable finish. This premium product allows precise handling without altering the fibre during assembly stages. The no. 5 grosgrain ribbon is ideal for headband fittings and hat brim finishes.
Usage advice
This ribbon is specifically designed to be shaped with an iron to follow the curves of headband fittings or hat brims. Due to its pure cotton structure, thorough steam shrinking is essential before any cutting or application, in order to stabilise the natural shrinkage of the fibre. Its suppleness allows the creation of complex milliner's knots (flat knot, French knot) with a clean drape and lasting hold.

Storage: store away from direct light and moisture to preserve colour depth.

Protection: the use of a press cloth is recommended when shaping with an iron to prevent glazing the cotton.

Tools: perfectly sharpened tailor's shears are necessary to ensure a clean cut across the weft.
