Grosgrain ribbon 25mm - Lavender - cotton

This traditionally crafted grosgrain ribbon is woven in France on wooden shuttle looms, ensuring an authentic structure and superior fibre suppleness. Its 100% cotton composition and 25 mm width make it ideal for fine millinery and tailoring work requiring a matte, stable finish. This premium product allows precise handling without fibre distortion during assembly stages. The No. 5 grosgrain ribbon is ideal for headband fittings and hat brim edge finishes.

Instructions for use

This ribbon is specifically designed to be worked with a pressing iron to follow the curves of headband fittings or hat brim edges. Due to its pure cotton structure, it is essential to carry out a full steam shrinking before any cutting or application in order to stabilise the natural fibre shrinkage. Its suppleness enables the creation of complex milliner's bows (flat bow, French bow) with a clean drape and lasting hold.

• Storage: store away from direct light and humidity to preserve the depth of colour.

• Protection: the use of a press cloth is recommended when blocking with an iron to avoid glazing the cotton.

• Tools: the use of perfectly sharpened tailor's shears is necessary to ensure a clean cut of the weft.
