Usage advice

This ribbon is specifically designed to be shaped with a steam iron to follow the curves of headsize bands or hat brims. Due to its pure cotton structure, it is imperative to carry out a thorough steam shrinkage (decatizing) before any cutting or mounting to stabilise the natural fibre contraction. Its flexibility allows for the creation of intricate millinery bows (flat bow, French bow) with a crisp drape and lasting hold.

• Storage: store away from direct sunlight and humidity to preserve the depth of the colour.

• Protection: the use of a press cloth is recommended when shaping with an iron to avoid glazing the cotton.

• Tooling: the use of perfectly sharpened tailor's shears is necessary to ensure a clean cut of the weft.
